Terminology

Common terms for the game of Cribbage are listed alphabetically below...


Crib
The crib is established at the beginning of the hand. It is formed by four cards; two from each player. These cards are set aside for the dealer to score after the use of the dealer's hand.
Go
Go is called by a player that cannot play a card without exceeding a cumulative count of 31. The opponent will score one point at that time. If the opponent is able to play a card and reach exactly 31 he will score two.
His Heels
This refers to a Jack as a starter card. It counts two points for the dealer.
His Nobs
A Jack of the same suit as the starter card, either in the hand or in the crib, counts one point.
Pone
The player that is the non-dealer, the dealer's opponent.
